New Mexico Part 3

Saturday morning I headed through Albuquerque and got on the highway to Belen, NM. A small town to the south.

I arrived around 10:00 am. The Wallace T. Smith collection was laid out in a back room. I was in trinitite heaven! Linnet and her mom were great hosts and we spent the morning sorting through trinitite. I had brought along some nice southeastern rocks to give to Linnet for her collection.

I am building a museum display on the Manhattan Project so I was very careful about what I selected. I let my OCD get the best of me, and before I left, I had approximately three pounds of trinitite to take home. That may not seem like much, but when you are buying it by the gram, it adds up!

After doing our dealing and loading up. We had lunch at the local Mexican restaurant before I headed out of town.

Glad to see that hauling one of those wind propellers is so cheap. I mean, diesel fuel is cheap, right? Maybe they should stick to Nuclear energy?
