Johns shop is at his residence. He does air fills for divers working the Cooper River. He does this after hours which is a great help to divers like us, who stay on the river till 5 or 6 in the evening.

When I got there, one of the local divers was getting his tanks filled after a day of diving. He showed me his best find of the day, this huge meg tooth!

John invited me to join him on the river the following day to dive the Cooper. Jerry and Tena and Robert weren't due in till the following evening and I was burned out on the land sites, so I jumped at the chance to get in an extra day of diving.

The next morning we were on our way to the first dive site at warp factor 450!

John, second from left, and the dive team from Ohio I dove with on Wednesday.

Some of the bones etc. I found while diving Wednesday. The above bone may be a pelvic? bone of a large animal. Not sure yet.

Above: Epiphysis, vertebral centrum, possibly mastodon. About 3.5".

Above: Whale vertebra, Baleen or toothed whale. 2.5" diameter.

Me with the Ohio dive crew. Check out John Cercopely's web site at CooperRiver Diving.com
