Glyptodont scutes.
Sturgeon mouth plates.
Two silver rings found about three feet apart in the river.
Fossil ivory from mastodon teeth.
Fossilized bottom turtle jaw.
Another of my favorites from this trip. This set of fossil armadillo scutes were found in "Rick's Hole #2" within a few inches of each other. Most likely from the same animal. After a week in Florida we headed to Jekyll Island, Georgia for the second half of our vacation. |
Snorkeling for sand dollars and other goodies in the ocean.
Back at our hotel, I got bored so I decided to make use of our hot tub. It worked great to clean all my fossil finds from the river! The next day we decided to head over to Saint Simons Island to check it out. |
Bridge to Saint Simons.
Sandy at Saint Simons Island.
We spotted a lighthouse and decided to check it out.
129 steps later and we had a great view!
Sandy at the top of the lighthouse.
Back at Jekyll Island, we hung out with the natives.
