Once the digging is done, the pieces are washed to remove the mud and dirt. The iron stain coating is left on the rocks until after the dividing is done. The individual diggers remove any coatings as they like, some choose to leave the iron and manganese coatings on the specimens as it makes some of the pieces look better.

The following pieces weigh between 8 and 50 pounds.
