Fieldtrip Report:
I had not done much digging this weekend, mostly watching others to see what was coming from where, Thomas and Lee and Nancy worked the wall and found numerous nice smoky plates and pineapple clusters, (I was recently told by a reliable source that the proper mining term for these clusters is porcupine). Warren Falcone and a friend arrived and spent the day Saturday digging a hole, and removed some of the best drusy quartz crystal plates I have ever seen from the mine, the crystals are much larger than the usual drusy and had very nice colored coatings on them.
Above pics of big drusy crystals.
Another great weekend with friends at the Diamond Hill Mine, I'm sure another report will result from the Christmas dig this weekend, so stay tuned!
