Fieldtrip Report:
Diamond Hill Machine Dig!
Antreville, S.C.
April 2008Report by: Rick Jacquot
Cluster with enhydro inclusion. Damage to top of main crystal is contact from vein.
Another cluster with enhydros.
Steve Barr specimen, perfect crystal.
The above two pics are one of my favorites, I like the color, notice the channel showing on the inside of the front crystal face, it has a nice bubble that travels through it.
The above four pics are of my first pick at the split. Having dug at Diamond Hill for over 16 years, I know how hard it is to find a perfect crystal of any type with no damage. To have a perfect amethyst is impossible. Well now I have one. 4 1/2" in diameter and just under 5" tall. This piece is flawless. It is a single crystal with a small hitch hiker and it has at least one enhydro that I have found so far.
