Fieldtrip Report:
Lake Douglas Tennessee,

Another nice agate I collected with an unusual pattern.
Not all the material is small, this piece weighs 3 pounds and measures 5" x 2" x 3".
There is plenty of agate and chert to be collected.
As always at this lake, I came home with around 2-300 crystals, as did everyone else. The location where the Indian works are found also produces larger quartz crystals, these are a few of the ones I collected.
I had to add a couple of pics of this crystal cluster to this report. While cleaning out my car today from yesterdays trip, I found this specimen rolling around in the trunk, it almost got sucked into the vacuum cleaner, I don't know if John D. collected it or me, it fell out of one of our containers. This is the first quadruple crystal cluster I have seen from this site.
This monster size cluster measures 1/2" long!
I also managed to collect this monster geode while at the lake, actually it was a gift from my friends Debbie and Betty , it is from Indiana, thanks gals, it will make a nice addition to my collection.
I want to take a moment to say thank you to all our M.A.G.M.A. members. I am in other clubs in this area, I arrange fieldtrips for them also and none of these clubs have the participation of this one. Every weekend, I look forward to seeing my friends in the club at a dig, the dedication of our members is fantastic. How many clubs have members that will travel sometimes 4-5 hours one way for a day of collecting with the club, just to be with their friends on the weekend, all of you are what makes this club so great. I also want you to know that I am planning trips to your areas for us to collect. Thank you all, Rick Jacquot
