Field Trip Report:

Ray Mica Mine with Tarheel Gem and Mineral Club:
Sept. 20, 2003

Hello all, we spent another great day of collecting at the Ray Mica Mine, members of M.A.G.M.A. and the Tarheel G&M Society made the trip up the mountain to the mine to collect tons of great stuff.

Lades was on the hunt for the elusive big beryl.

After the Ray, we headed to the Crabtree for some emeralds.

My 5 lb. green tourmaline specimen.

Nice columbite crystal collected at the Ray.

As always another excellent day in the field.
