After he was done dancing around the truck, Buddy joined Russ and Romin to put his sledgehammer to better use on some of the large boulders they found.

Some of the more intelligent folks in the group mimicked Marcy and Robert's idea, and dug in the shade to escape the intense heat.

The legendary John D. showed up in his usual "sheik" outfit and dark sunglasses. At first I thought the glasses were to protect his eyes, but I learned later that they were supposed to protect his identity, now that he is in the Federal Witness Protection Program.

Romin brought his own shade with him.

Pat and Austin attack a promising dump pile.

Although Terry and his crew were concentrating on digging in the new pit, he impressed everyone by driving the machine out of the hole every now and then to "shake up" the tailings piles for us. And, he graciously let club members go through the new piles he was generating.

Terry's generosity went above and beyond the call of duty. At one point, he even dug a special trench in the shade for our good friend Bob. Bob is battling Parkinsons Disease, so he can't get around as well as he used to. But, he's a fighter, and he goes on lots of digs in spite of his pain.

And, just moments after Terry dug that ditch for Bob, this big "honker" popped out of the ground! A nice find for a nice guy.

"DigDug" (Anton) hit into a nice pocket, and ended up taking home several sweet specimens. (Note the killer necklace he's wearing, he made that himself!)

These are just a few of Anton's finds.
