Fieldtrip Report:
Lake
Douglas, Tennessee
March 4th, 2006
Crystal I found with hematite inclusion, looks like blood inside the crystal.
Mud included crystal.
A few double terminated crystals.
We took a lunch break and then our member David Hale led us to a nearby location to collect geodes and more crystals.
There was plenty to be found, with a little time you can fill a bucket with these small quartz geodes, we also found banded chert, and large crystals.
Quartz crystals inside geode.
Largest geode I found, about 3" diameter.
After spending the afternoon collecting the geodes, I decided to give them a name, since they are almost all golfball size or smaller, I named them "Douglas Weeodes", get it, wee, small, weeode, ok, back to the report.
"Douglas Weeode"
