Fieldtrip Report:
MARION, KENTUCKY FLUORITE DIG Despite fears that less than ideal weather forecasts would deter people from participating in this year’s Marion dig, 30+ people showed up, paid up, and signed required paperwork for a Ben E. Clement Mineral Museum field trip. Upon arriving at the Eureka Mine diggers quickly fanned out over the new material piles. Bryan examines some likely material. First time Kentucky diggers. Dave points out the trend of the mineralized vein to Romin. Others anxiously waited for the pump to drain the pit low enough to work the mineralized vein. |
