Fieldtrip Report:

More Lee pics:

Dennis had also found a bunch of smaller amethyst pieces:

I could load the report with pages of the numerous pieces I recovered from the skeletal pit and elsewhere but I will add only two pics of my material, on Sunday morning Chet was gracious enough to allow Lee and myself into his digging area to collect some specimens, I was very happy with what I found as well as Lee, after we got out of the pit, Chet allowed the other members in to collect as well, everyone came home with some very nice material, thanks Chet!.

Smoky amethyst specimen, perfect points, the base is amethyst and the points are smoky, the large crystal measures 2 1/4" in diameter, the specimen measures 3" x 4".

Another nice specimen of smoky amethyst, the large crystal measures 2 1/2" diameter with perfect point, the specimen measures 2.5" x 4".

Thanks again to Chet Karwoski for setting up another trackhoe dig with our club, we always enjoy these digs, as I said, Diamond Hill is always an adventure!
