About a year and a half ago, during a club trip, Lee and I noticed some quartz crystals at the base of one of the walls. In just a few minutes, Lee found a monster crystal in the pile.

Lee and his 30 pound crystal from a previous club trip.

Within the hour during that trip, I had unearthed this monster plate of 5" diameter crystals!

Then, on our club trip in February, I found this monster crystal in the same area as the previous trip. As we made our way into the mine that day, my mind was set on hitting the area again. Meanwhile, the other members were finding more unique treasures.

New members Rhonda Ellis and her Son.

Ken had located a nice big specimen of lazulite, here he is, taking a break while Frado and John Munz pound specimens from the boulder.

Ken has gotten quite talented with his cabbing machine, this is a cut specimen of the lazulite he had found at the mine.

Back to the quartz wall.....

Mark G., Ken, and I had moved a few little rocks to better work the area.

This first little rock we moved was later used as a table for our giveaway specimens and paperwork from the release forms.

It wasn't long before we spotted a crystal cluster poking out from under one of the boulders. The above two pics show the fat crystal points.
