Fieldtrip Report:

Lake Douglas, Tennessee
March 4th, 2006

Another fantastic day at the lake has come and gone, perfect weather, and a nice change from the cold rainy fieldtrips from the past few weeks. We met some members in Asheville and then caravaned to the usual meeting spot at the lake where we met with many more members. I got to meet several members that have been in the club for a while and finally made it on their first fieldtrip. We started the day off at the regular collecting area that we like, it looked as though no one had been collecting the site lately, hundreds if not thousands of crystals (Douglas Diamonds) were found by our members.

Mini StellaSue having fun.

Scouring the lakebed for crystals.

Luther, Debbie, and Betty.

Some of Rick Penleys crystals.

Cool crystal found by Rick P.
